What is Performance Training?

Thump Boxing

Performance training places sole emphasis on the way the body performs. Focus is placed upon anatomical alignment, muscular balance, muscular firing order, core stability, physical and mental endurance, power, strength and range of movement. There is no emphasis placed upon appearance. When your body functions properly the weight will take care of its self.

As Performance Trainers we are Health and Fitness Professionals involved in developing and implementing an individualized approach to exercise.

The basic components of fitness including muscular strength; muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and body composition are addressed. Other components such as speed, power, balance, etc are also attended to.

The emphasis on Performance Training comes from our understanding of what works best for the client and a deeper understanding of human movement. It is not just about pushing someone hard, but more about working out at an effective level to achieve their goals. Some people need only one session to get them on the right track, ensure their program is balanced, and answer their questions. Others prefer to work with us for several months to get in the habit of exercise and to see ongoing results. There are others that prefer to work with us indefinitely because they feel that they will get better results and have more fun working with us then working alone.

Being a Performance Trainer is not just a matter of standing next to you and shouting at you to work faster/harder. Taken into consideration is a wealth of variables that can be tweaked to ensure quick results. We offer our clients a range of services that has only been made possible through our knowledge of Natural Therapies and Sports Medicine.

Sessions usually take 50 minutes.
